Showcase your Internship Roles for FREE at PETEX 2016

Article by Deirdre O’Donnell, Working Smart Ltd

Raise your Profile by Supporting Industry Graduates

PETEX 2016 organised by the PESGB (Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain) is taking place at ExCeL London on the 15-17 November 2016.

The conference will attract in excess of 200 graduates predominately from our leading UK universities. As part of the PESGB’s initiative to support our unemployed and graduates seeking employment, they are also offering to promote your Internship Programs to these graduates for free.

With the demographic paradigm shift in our workplace over the last 2 years, we believe that building a pipeline of our younger generation is key for the future.  As in any downturn our graduates are badly affected with job opportunities and PETEX provides an excellent platform to engage with top industry graduates in geoscience and engineering and to discuss any graduate mentoring or Internship Programmes you may be able to offer.

Some Companies are starting to think about Internships for 3 months and others for a year and more. In some cases ‘expenses only’ have been offered. In the current climate, all is very welcome and we would urge you to think of what you and your Company can do for the plight of our graduates! This could be in providing materials, data, lectures, webinars, internships, mentoring programmes etc.

The plan is to promote your offerings to this demographic at PETEX and following the event. We are working closely with our University contacts in developing ongoing events for our industry graduates.

As PETEX is fast approaching, we are very interested in hearing from you as soon as possible.

Thanking you for your time in reading the above and I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully receiving your support.
