Meet the new PESGB intern…

darrell

My name is Darrell, I’m a film graduate from London and have just started an internship at PESGB. During my time here I’ll be making a series of short films aimed at providing members with a friendly and personable feel for PESGB as an organisation. I will be filming events and evening lectures as well as producing content featuring Council member interviews and a showcasing of the office and team here at PSEGB (keep an eye out for the finished films).

Over the duration of my internship, I aim to use the skills I’ve learnt at university within a professional setting, thereby extending my confidence and abilities within a working environment. I hope to have a positive and productive impact within the organisation, while at the same time learning vital working skills needed for future work.

Meet the new PESGB Volunteer…

lily

Hello PESGB members,

To go with the trend of the times, here comes another addition to the PESGB team. My name is Lily. I am 19 years old and currently a 3rd year Arts and Sciences student at UCL with a special focus on Politics and Linguistics. With 5 years of experience in organising concerts, shows and academic speaker events, I have a great passion for event management which I wish to explore further during my 8-week voluntary placement here at PESGB.

So far I have enjoyed my first four weeks with a very warm and welcoming team and members (those that I have been in contact with at least!) and wish to contribute to the Society as much as I can. During my time here, I am responsible for a new format of outreach field trips the society is looking to organise, the collation of the Geophysics abstract volume, the organisation of the Houston networking event and a biennial report about PESGB’s disbursement projects.

I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming weeks. If you have any questions regarding disbursement projects, the networking event in Houston, outreach field trips or the Geophysics conference, please feel free to get in touch at events@pesgb.org.uk or help@pesgb.org.uk!

Meet the new PESGB Volunteer…

Jay

Hi PESGB members!

I’m Jay and I have been a volunteer (that’s right, I volunteered!) at the PESGB for over a month now. The team here at PESGB HQ are the most welcoming bunch of people I have ever met. I look forward to coming into the office every week to help out with preparations for upcoming events and take part in the random but delightful conversations that leave me very confused. Unfortunately I am only here two days a week. I spend the rest of my week working back of house, setting up for large events such as the races at Ascot and concerts in The O2.

I am a geology graduate and will be undertaking a masters in the beautiful city of Tromsø (Norway) this autumn because I take my geology very seriously, I even have a rock collection! So until then I hope to contribute as much as I can to this fantastic organisation and its lovely members.

Meet the new PESGB Events Intern…

bogdan

Hello to all PESGB members!

My name is Bogdan, I am 24 years old and I am the new, very excited Events Intern at PESGB. I have a background in Journalism and Event Management, and, as you might have guessed, I am really passionate about…events. So far, I have been involved in the organisation of music gigs, drama shows, sporting and charity events, as well as exhibitions.

I hope that in my time at PESGB I will be able to contribute as much as possible to the creation of the events you all know and love. PESGB is all about you, and if you’re happy, then we’re happy! So far, I have thoroughly enjoyed working here, with a bunch of friendly, skilled and intelligent people and I hope, at one point or another, to meet as many of you guys as I can.

For information about PETEX, PROSPEX, or just say ‘Hi’, please don’t hesitate to contact me at bogdan@pesgb.org.uk or events@pesgb.org.uk
